Bologna, not Bologna
After a long week, Laura jumped on the idea to get out of town for a day especially when the train tickets were discounted. We met up with Mari Pali, a new friend from Ecuador, at the train station and we were off. By the end of the day we would have lost Laura’s blackberry, taken pictures of graffiti, kissing couples, oddly behaving shoppers, and stores solely devoted to mushrooms,...

The Daily Walk
Here is the route google maps suggests to take from my apartment to my school. There are a few other satellite studios that my school has classes in, but all of mine happen to be in the same building which means less confusion. To be honest, I never take the same route everyday. Having visited Florence twice before, I feel comfortable with the general layout of the city and know that if I walk in...
conservation = life lessons?
This morning I had my first conservation class. For three and a half hours in the morning we work hands on with materials and techniques and then return a couple hours later for a two hour lecture. Maybe 20 euros or so. If you don’t do this, there is a chance that I may not receive the items or if I do, I will have to pay very hefty fees. Oiy. Crazy Italia.

My class schedule
This will be my schedule for the first three weeks, after which the survival italian language class and italian cooking class will be over. Let’s just say, I can’t complain!

The First Night and my First Post
Well. It’s here. I’m here. Florence, Italy for four months, eh? Leading up to this date was procrastination, confusion, worry, excitement, nervousness, and more worry. The week in Europe leading up to this day only added to my stress at times, but once I walked up to seventy-five flights of stairs to my apartment, it all subsided. I feel like I really can do this. I feel like I really...
